Higher Education commission

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken a major decision regarding examinations in universities.

Higher Education Commission directs universities to formulate policy for examinations and share it with students.  The HEC has asked universities to conduct online Viva exams to award degrees to final semester students. Without exams, university students will not be promoted to the next semester. The Higher Education Commission has issued instructions to the Vice Chancellors of the universities.
Earlier, a letter was sent by the Registrar Punjab University to the Chairpersons, Deans, Heads and Directors of all departments.
The letter said that no examination will be canceled till clear instructions from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Until then, the exam schedule and online classes will continue as usual.

On the other hand, a meeting of the Punjab Board Committee of Chairman was held at Lahore Board. The meeting was specially attended by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun and Provincial Minister for Education Murad Rass. The meeting was also attended by PBCC Chairman Riaz Hashmi and other board chairmen.

The meeting considered issues related to board examinations, marking of papers, promotion of students’s examinations and supplementary examinations. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Commission Raja Yasir Humayun says that 10th class papers will be marked. He said that the supplementary student is being considered for passing with grace marks.

Raja Yasir Humayun said that by promoting ninth and eleventh class students, joint examination can be taken next year.He said that students who do not like this option will be able to retake the exam voluntarily next year
