In the NCOC meeting chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umar, the proposals related to lockdown were finalized and it was stated in the briefing that Balochistan and Sindh governments are not in favor of smart lockdown.
The meeting was also attended by various federal ministers and special assistants including Interior Minister Zafar Mirza and Moeed Yousuf. The meeting made recommendations regarding the NCC meeting. In which the traders association has been urged to attend the meeting for implementation of SOPs.
On the occasion, Federal Minister Asad Omar said that the business community should follow the policy of ‘No mask No Service’. Asad Umar also ordered strict measures for the implementation of SOPs and stern action against violators.
The Federal Minister said that awareness campaign should be intensified for the government measures related to the epidemic. Expressing satisfaction over the availability of ventilators, he also directed to provide details to the concerned authorities regarding beds and other facilities. The meeting called for community mobilization and setting up of call centers by June 15.
It was informed in the briefing that Sindh and Balochistan governments do not agree on the implementation of smart lockdown, both the provinces are giving priority to the policy of quarantine in homes. And the House is mobilizing doctors to do the job, while new doctors will soon be recruited through walk-in interviews.
Dr Zafar Mirza also apprised the people of the latest situation on corona virus in the country.
