New Breast Cancer Drug Approved In America
The monthly cost of the approved drug will be Rs 2.9 Million while the entire course will be around Rs.20 Million. According to details, the US Institute of Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has approved the use of a new drug against severe John Breast Cancer that will be available immediately.
It is a life-threatening type of breast cancer that spreads rapidly throughout the body, including the brain.
To combat this type of cancer, a company called Seattle Genetics has developed a drug called Tokyasa, approved April 14 evening. Its normal dose is two pills daily morning and evening, and the price of 60 pills is more than $ 18,000, which is about 3 million in Pakistani rupees, but its entire course is not less than Rs. 20 million.
This type of cancer has already failed many drugs due to the genetic way in which a specific gene is activated and HER-to-protein increases cancer.
About 50,000 women in the United States suffer from breast cancer each year, which is treatable in the first stage. But later it spreads rapidly and kills half of its patients during treatment as the cancer reaches the brain.
The company has announced that those who cannot buy the medicine will be given medicine only in case of installment or financial support.
