In 40 days, a record of 65 drug addict died in gardens and park of Lahore

According to details, 65 drug addicts become died due to lockdown in Lahore city, every month, 24 to 28 drug addicts were die from overdose and lack of food but in April alone, a record 51 drug addicts passed away. Although fourteen drug addicts died in the ten days of March, Syed Zulfiqar Hussain, Consultant Anti-Drug campaign, said that drug addicts were the cause of death due to bad conditions like food, dehydration, drug abuse and unhealthy health and grime, prior to the lockdown, 24 to 28 drug addicts were die each month.

He said that there are drug dens all over the city and law enforcement agencies take effective action against them from time to time. The Orange Line Track and the Lahore Canal have become a hot places of drug addicts, There are camps for drug addicts in more than 120 places across the city.

According to Edhi sources, the bodies of about 20 to 22 unidentified persons were found before the lockdown. But that number has now doubled. Unidentified bodies are buried after completing legal proceedings.

Opium, marijuana, gatka, cannabis, heroin and many other drugs are on the rise in Lahore as a result, the younger generation is becoming the target, but police officials have remained silent spectators, while subordinate staff are busy in announcing only verbal deposits to superior officers.

Drug trafficking is common in other areas, including covered areas, and drug dealers can be seen on the streets who have the alleged patronage of the police.
