Facebook has announced that the company has acquired the popular GIF sharing platform Giphy. Facebook has bought Jeffy for 400 million. Facebook intends to better integrate Jeffrey into its products, such as Instagram and Facebook.
Jeffy is already connected to many Facebook products, including Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. Facebook says that 50% of Jeffy’s traffic comes from Facebook products.
Jeffy will now be part of the Instagram team. The company will now work to facilitate Jeff’s involvement in stories and private messages. As far as Jeff’s own customers are concerned, nothing has changed for them at the moment. Jeffy’s platform will not be changed yet.
